Well… I’m not quite sure where to begin with this birth! To say I was reduced to tears as their message came through was an understatement. It’s not often I know the Daddy before I know the Mummy, but if we take things right back, I’m talking way back when, the Summer of 1996 I used to babysit for this Daddy and his brother when they were little boys… & now he’s holding his own adorable little girl in his arms.
Fast forward to Christmas last year and I was on a wreath making work shop at Flower Design with this gorgeous Mummy and her family. The conversation was flowing around what I did at Beau Baby as well as would there be a baby Webb anytime soon?! If anyone has ever been on a Christmas wreath making course the array of flowers and berries available at that time of year are so amazing… there was one in particular which was a firm talking point around the table and one Jane from Flower Design spoke so fondly about – Myrtle a simple elegant berry “The Myrtle plant has come to symbolize passion, fertility and feminine beauty”, we laughed and joked about putting this Berry in the wreaths… I’m thinking this berry had huge significance in conception!
Then in January of this year I was having a wonderful chat with this gorgeous Mummy at a birthday party. We were talking all things fertility, as I was explaining more what Fertilty Massage was all about… however this adorable Beau Baby had other ideas, as little did anyone know she was already glimmer in her mummies eye… as this mummy was already in her tummy!!
To say I was delighted when I got the call that she was wanting to join Beau Baby, not as a fertility client but ready to embark on pregnancy relaxation was an understatement. From there on in this Mummy arrived week after week for her dose of Pregnancy Relaxation, a chance for her to relax, switch off and bond with baby. Each week she arrived with a smile on her face and the most positive out look on her pregnancy and that of her impending birth. She always had a story to tell from the numerous trips she went on in her pregnancy: weddings, hen do’s, parties, mini breaks, concerts – often joking this baby is very portable in her tummy! This Mummy & Daddy wisely opted for a Private Hypnobirthing course in the comfort of their beautiful home. Like majority of Daddies-to-be the idea of ‘Hypnobirthing’ is a far cry from their social scene, but once they are onboard the transformation is unreal 😉
The due date came and went… it is at this point I see many mummy-to-be become despondent, get fed up and give up… not this Mummy, she upped her game, the sand dunes opposite The Grand Hotel became her new hide out… this baby needed movement. Having had numerous sweeps and a stubborn cervix, her waters finally went, but it was countdown to see if induction would be needed or if baby would make an entrance on their own … Here’s how the story unfolded:
Hi Rebecca, well I don’t know where to start. After my waters breaking, I went into labour within the 24 hours, with my cervix nice and thin and 4cm dilated (winning 😬) However when my second waters went, we discovered She had pooed in her waters. Then when we got hooked up to monitoring her heart rate was high, my blood pressure was high and then we found out last minute she was breach. So between myself, Sam and our 2 fantastic midwifes, we opted for emergency c-section. Then she came out having swallowed her poo and she needed resuscitating for 2 minutes and had to go up to neonatal for a few hours. Honestly though the staff, midwifes everyone here could not have been better and me and Sam felt we were in control of it all, which is what we wanted. Thank you so much, it really wouldn’t have been have the same without the education and tools you gave us. Sam was totally amazing. Posie Florence Webb is worth it all 💗 xxx
I say it time and time again, POSITIVE over PERFECT… and I am so moved of this positive birth. I had every ounce of confidence in this couple, as their own birth story unfolded they remained calm on their journey and trusted each step of the way. If I had a pound for every time people say after a challenging birth ‘but they did Hypnobirthing?’ I’d be doing well. My response to this, and EVERYTIME, is ‘how BLESSED they did Hypnobirthing’ no one knows their birth story until it happens. This couple are true evidence of this… they remained in control at all times, their trust between themselves, their baby and the medical team was second to none and ultimately they remained calm, positive and focused on everything they learnt. Their personalities 100% complimented one another… ultimately making them the dream team for labour & birth.
I have since met the adorable Posie Florence and she is everything as picture perfect as she looks. The biggest congratulations again, I am so proud of everything you achieved with your birth,
